Embodied Dignity and Boundaries
Is your mind setting goals but your body still afraid of your personal power because you learned being confident and strong meant more harm or conflict? Are you caught in caring or giving too much?
Setting boundaries requires a healthy FIGHT response which can be difficult when we have been taught by family or larger systems that our self-worth is tied to our ability to help or rescue.
During this 2-hour workshop we will explore the wisdom of your body by tapping into your innate personal power and resilience. The aim is to strengthen your FIGHT response while also keeping grounded in your own emotional needs, safety, wisdom, and self-compassion.
Together we will touch on the wisdom of the Polyvagal Theory to understand why we go into what’s known as the FAWN response.
We will engage in mindful movement practises to help strengthen your energy field and re-occupy your peri personal space.
I will offer a somatic word association experiment as a way of bringing light to what unconsciously interferes with your capacity to create and reinforce healthy boundaries.
We will explore harnessing anger and accessing your voice through a full spectrum of no’s.
This workshop is fun, informative, and empowering. Places are limited to 10. I would recommend bringing a notebook and pen.
I blend theory and technique from cognitive, humanistic, and psychodynamic therapies into this workshop. More importantly, I include body orientated ideas and interventions that promote empowerment and feelings of ‘I’ve got this’.
